Excellent craftsmanship and very open communication. Will use again.
Shallow post footings in expansive clay: North Texas sits atop highly expansive Montmorillonite clay soil. While local frost depths are shallow (typically 6 to 12 inches), the primary threat is the soil's active shrink-swell cycle, which extends 24 to 36 inches deep. When rain hits, clay expands with immense lateral force; when dry, it bakes and pulls away. Posts set shallower than 24 to 36 inches sit entirely within this active movement zone, causing footings to loosen, shift, and lean over time. We set line posts at a minimum depth of 24 to 36 inches—extending deeper for tall privacy fences and gate assemblies—and pour crowned concrete footings that shed water away from the post base.
Ground-line post rot: Wood posts consistently decay right at the grade line, where soil moisture, ambient oxygen, and decay fungi intersect. To eliminate this point of failure entirely, our premium builds utilize heavy-duty galvanized steel posts. Steel will not rot, warp, or twist, keeping your fence line straight for the entire lifespan of the pickets.
Unprotected cedar breakdown: Raw Western Red Cedar exposed to intense Texas UV radiation rapidly loses its natural lignin and protective oils. Unsealed wood dries out, splits, and turns a brittle, weathered gray. Left untreated, raw cedar ages a decade in just three summers.
What We Build and Restore
Board-on-board cedar fencing: Offers full privacy with overlapping pickets that eliminate gaps as the wood contracts and expands.
Horizontal Cedar Fencing Options
We offer three distinct styles of horizontal cedar fencing, tailored to meet your aesthetic preferences and budget requirements:
Premium Tongue and Groove: Our top-tier offering provides a seamless, sophisticated look with zero gaps. The interlocking boards create a solid, flush surface that offers maximum privacy and an ultra-modern, clean architectural finish.
Board-on-Board Horizontal: This style features overlapping boards that create depth and visual dimension. It is engineered to maintain complete privacy even as the wood naturally expands and contracts through changing Texas seasons.
Side-by-Side Horizontal: Our most cost-effective option provides the contemporary look of horizontal cedar using a traditional installation method. It delivers clean, modern architectural lines while preserving the natural beauty and structural integrity of Western Red Cedar.
Steel-post with shadow box: Blends the timeless look of natural cedar with the structural permanence of heavy-gauge galvanized steel posts.
Custom new installations: Engineered with footings and layouts tailored specifically to your yard's drainage, slope, and exact property line.
Comprehensive fence restoration: Straightening leaning runs, swapping out failed posts, replacing warped pickets, and applying professional penetrating stains to restore oil balance and block UV damage.
Storm damage repair: Rapid structural repair of wind-damaged sections, including full documentation for insurance claims.
The Restore-First Approach
You do not always need an expensive tear-out and complete replacement. We built our reputation by restoring fences that other contractors would have prematurely torn down.
If your primary framing remains sound, we can often re-plumb the line, replace compromised sections, integrate galvanized steel posts alongside existing wood supports, power-wash the timber to remove dead surface fibers, and apply a premium penetrating stain matched to your home's exterior trim. You get a fence that looks and performs like new at a fraction of the cost.
If the structural foundation is beyond saving, we will clearly show you why and walk you through your options.
Staining That Actually Protects
Re-staining is an essential structural maintenance step, not just a cosmetic refresh. A quality deep-penetrating oil stain replenishes the essential oils stripped away by UV rays, blocks moisture absorption to prevent swelling and warping, and drastically slows down graying.
We properly prep the timber surface, power-wash away embedded dirt and oxidized fibers, allow complete moisture dry-out, and apply stain within optimal temperature and humidity curing windows. Skipping prep or using cheap film-forming sealers causes finishes to peel within a single season.
Built for Your Property, Not a Template
Every DFW property features distinct grading, drainage patterns, and site-specific quirks. Before providing a quote, we walk your entire fence line to evaluate water runoff, locate low spots that trap standing moisture against wood, and lay out post spacing to maintain straight, level tops across varying slopes. These details distinguish an amateur installation from a custom-crafted exterior structure.
We serve homeowners across Dallas and surrounding North Texas suburbs. Every fence we build or restore is backed by our 10-year workmanship warranty—a promise rooted directly in our foundation depth and material selection.
